![]() ![]() Cute Kitten: You can buy one that you send out to get more and more money for you.Blood-Stained Letter: What you receive after Madame Sinclaire kills your cat.I want to redo the whole story, make it more satisfying and lay the groundwork for a proper sequel.īottom line, I'm convinced I can make the games better, I know what people liked and didn't like about the originals, and I'm sure the budget is fair for what we want to make. Because it doesn't work well, because it's stupid, because it doesn't have a good story or really a good reason to exist alongside Presentable Liberty. I didn't try very hard with the first game, I made it in like 3 days, then took my time on the sequel and now everyone is disappointed when they play the first game after the second. You said it yourself - 'Exoptable Money was fine, but Presentable Liberty was absolutely gut-wrenching'. The main reason I'm making a kickstarter is so I can make a good sequel. 'Make a sequel instead of remakes' - yes, I want to. The budget may seem steep for what the original games were - I had no budget at all for them - but with these games I think it's very justified, and you'd see things differently if you knew where we were going with them. The main focus of the remakes is going to be Exoptable Money, it's going to be completely different, with a much more interesting story and much better characters. Don't you think I know that showing characters would be counter-productive? Don't you think there's a reason I didn't show them in the first place? I genuinely wish you all the best.Ī lot of people say this. If that Kickstarter goes live, even at the same $20k cost, I think you'd have a lot more success. However, a Kickstarter I'd be thrilled to support is a Kickstarter for a new game from the guy who made Exoptable Money and Presentable Liberty. But I think the reason your Kickstarter didn't do well is because it's just unnecessary. I didn't make this comment just to bitch at the creator. ![]() I do not doubt for one second that you have the best intentions, but asking for $20,000 to remake one game that's essentially a flash game and another with a single room, no character models, no voice acting, and a street with a bakery is pretty steep. Plus, EM would just be fuckin nasty with good graphics. In fact, better graphics mean more realism, and more realism means you ask more questions about unrealistic things, like who is delivering the letters, and how the hell can't you tell it's an elevator the whole time. I do not want to see Charlotte, I do not want to see Mr. There are basically no graphics needed in EM, as well as very few environments in PL and zero character models. What about either game would be improved with higher graphical fidelity? I can't think of a single thing. The other main thing about a remake would be graphics. Adding game like mechanics would distract from the simplicity of the game, but more than that, it would distract from the endless, repeating longing for the next letter. In fact, adding mechanics would harm PL in particular. So a remake wouldn't improve the gameplay. In fact, it was this simplicity that made the games so incredibly investing. #MARKIPLIER PRESENTABLE LIBERTY SIMULATOR#EM was pretty much literally Cookie Clicker, and PL's gameplay revolved around Room Simulator and Gameboy. In fact, as gameplay goes, they're terribly unfun. But my concern is this- I worry that the reason the Kickstarter isn't doing all that well is because I can't see what about those games would be improved with a remake.Īs gameplay experiences, they were nothing special. Exoptable Money was fine, but Presentable Liberty was absolutely gut-wrenching. Okay, I don't want you as the creator or any of your fans to take this the wrong way, because I loved the original games. ![]()
